Greatest team you've never heard of

I got up this morning with an alarm buzzer screaming at me. It was 6:43 a.m., 8 minutes later then it was set for. My roommate was pretty nice about the noise that interrupted her sleep. After scarfing down breakfast, cheerio’s with peanut butter on a banana, I rushed out for Math in Weiking Center. From Gage that’s a mile walk so I plan to head out 20 minutes early. Class ended at 8:45, thus ending class for the day. I had about 4 hours to prepare for the game we had today. It was against Metro State (in Colorado), which we had lost 0 to 5 last year. I am a freshmen Goalkeeper so I didn't really plan on playing a lot, the first half anyway. Our Goalkeeper (Shelly) is a dedicated and strong player. Any ways, we knew that in order to win we were going to have to step it up on defense and forward. Even on the bench in order for my team to push through was with our encouragement. On the field we did our warm-ups, and lined up for the national anthem. The game was about to start, and we were fired up.
The first half started and the energy was up, a shot from Metro and a save by Shelly. By the end of the half the score was 2-1 with Metro in the lead. The team was down a bit, but with a talk from our coach it was clear that we were going to have to step it up. Number one: we are the better team, and number two: we don’t lose on our field. Twenty minutes into the second half the score was 2-2 with an assist via a corner kick that careened off a freshmen midfielder’s head, between the goalkeepers hands, and into the back of the net. The score was tied and with the buzzer sounding for the end of the second half, ten minute overtime was called for. All we knew is that we had to keep the ball on their side and be first to score. 5 minutes into overtime we got a corner kick. It was close, but to no avail it was back on our side. A Metro player dribbled the ball down the middle of the field and shot it out of bounds. A goal kick was taken off the 6 yard line and dribbled by an MNSU player who shot and scored. We had won to Metro. The whole team ran onto the field and celebrated. For all the home games, we plan to win all of them, so If you’re planning on attending look for an intense, victorious game!
