watching : "I am Legend"

My favorite genres of movies are physiological thrillers and action movies. The movie that I just finished watching was “I am legend”. This movie was packed with action and reality about the earth on a new level. The setting of the movie was New York about four years late, when a biological agent turns bad. There is a vaccine in 2009 that’s developed claiming it’s a cure for cancer. This is injected into a few people and the vaccine becomes an airborne virus that cause homo-sapiens and animals to bevelope rabies. This agent (will smith) plays the super human in the movie that stays in new York to fight off the ravaged people and find a cure. He is immune to the airborne virus and tries to use his blood for the cure. Over the course of his research he gets in contact with the diseased people and fights them off at in the day. When his beloved dog dies he goes after them at night, when they are most active. Ths is a mistake, but amazingly he is rescued by two survivors whom escape and the hero dies in the end.
This movie was one of the better ones I’ve seen in a while. To think that this could never happen but on the other hand some parallels to it. This could be a reality if genetic engineering kept taking place in finding and modifying the human genome.

Steve Jobs : speech on his life

The video shown with Steve Jobs as the speaker was given to us because the whole idea of doing what your heart wants you to do instead what someone else wants you to do is better. The speech was given at Stanford University commencement ceremony. Jobs basically sates the ups and downs of the business world and his college world, which he doesn’t regret at all. I believe that what he shared helped some people understand that failure is not the end of everything. Jobs life story was short and sweet. He first starts off by telling the crowd he came into the world out of wedlock and a lack of education. His mother had not finished college and his father had not finished high school. After the adoptive parents, a lawyer and a teacher wanted a girl he was turned away. He was offered to these other parents but then had a hard time being accepted after finding out his parents were not educated to their liking. Only after Steve’s mother promised the parents that he would go to college, did he get adopted.
He chose Reed University, which was almost just expensive as Stanford, to begin his college education. After 6 months of using up his parents salary, he dropped out. Although he dropped out of college he didn’t go away from the university. He dropped in to an auditing class (calligraphy) which he found to be very intriguing. He pursued a career in business and was fired at apple. He then went to Pixar and then to next. He later found out that apple had joined Pixar and next so he got to work there again. His failures turned out to be for the best.
He always has this motto behind everything that he does, either do things as if you were dying the next day, or think outside.

Please don't stop the music

Music is all around us, it’s in the wind, trees, and ground. Music is the most versatile language, in that it can be anything one imagines music is. Across the universe, music could have the same effect on you as it does on somebody in another country. My favorite style of music is alternative, hip-hop, and reggae. These are my favorites because they tell a story. Also I have a taste for classical because it’s a piece of history I listen to. I love the fact that so long ago, that was their music to listen to, and that was pretty much it. It’s intriguing to know that most teenagers listened to classical in the early sixteen ad seventeen hundreds. If they were to expound on this topic I would think they would state Beethoven and Bach as there favorite composers etc. Alternative has a smooth or hard beat to it. I like the music that can accompany me to a workout, and calm me when doing homework. On my iPod I have such menus in which to accommodate the mood of my daily activities. Hip-hop is music to dance to and workout to. I usually listen to classical music when I am writing a report, or during asleep when contemplating something. Classical makes me think and my mind opens to new writing ideas.
My taste in music has changed from my younger years. I had always had a taste for classical since a little girl and for hip hop, but I used to listen to such music as country. Country does not appeal to me anymore. I don’t like the twang in people’s voices, or the guitars that have the “twang” sound either. Some country songs I will tolerate, but not much. I suppose if I were forced to listen to country as a punishment I would not mind it, but for leisure I would. Alternative and techno music went on my list when I was a junior in high school. I knew my mother didn’t really approve of the music I listened to, so I just toned it down a little to appease her, just to be respectful. I don’t really think that she minds now that I am away from the house and in college. Music is an important element in my life, but without music I would simply take up a new hobby, maybe a new language. A song as my theme song would be dreamer by Chris brown Vivaldi by happy hardcore and No.5 by Hollywood undead and Enur-calabria in a remix.

How to live :Live your life

Enjoy life to the fullest, have a good relationship with your parents, write a research paper on something in science, don’t make your x-partners hate you, try to treat others how they would like to be treated, take advantage of being young, go scuba diving, ride a dolphin while scanning the coral reef, make do with whatever you have in your room, be competitive with your scholars, don’t be pressured to do something you don’t want to do.

Make sure that if you do whatever you wanted to do, it’s morally right. If you get in a fight with your parents apologize it’s better to have fought and made up then to have a yearlong grudge, play a sport or five, stay active, play soccer and challenge yourself in goal or on field if you like, eat chicken and pork with fresh spinach, shoots, onions, garlic oil, pepper Chile oil, chili sauce,
pad -Thai noodles, fresh cabbage, and lemon juice simmered over a hot griddle. Have children if your salary permits it, choose your spouse well, don’t sleep around, stay as modest as you can, be yourself, don’t be afraid,

trust in God, don’t rely on others to get you through homework, show up for class, stay in touch with your family, remember that friends will be around but family will always be around, get a dog, feed it, love it and play with it, don’t let your love of the dog take up love of a person, watch comedy more than horror movies, listen to all varieties of music, watch Monty python it will make your day, don’t believe everything you see or hear, listen to Bach, Arnie Anderson, and Mozart. Sing in the shower, make your own tracks, and make a blog. You only live once, live it to the fullest

So far the day has been good, I went to dynamic training in the morning at 7 am. I have several topics on my mind; one is writing a final draft of a summary. I now see that my writing skills are not up to college standards. I am also typing really slowly, because of a finger injury sustained in a practice on Friday. Well back to the summary, I don’t really understand all the errors I made, and I suppose I need help on my citing, because every one of them are circled. I haven’t ever had a problem with citing aft4er a quoted sentence, if not in my own words. “Welcome to college Briana”, I just told myself. I really need to practice my writing and grammar. When the section blog said for us to write on a topic and for 15 minutes it made me think about science. There are so many topics in science that I could astound on. Actually I was watching this Neanderthal documentary, and mummy show on the discovery channel. The Neanderthals were our ancestors from Europe and lived about 30 thousand years ago. The mummy that scientists were looking at was about two thousand years ago. I am typing really slow, I’ve only typed this much in ten minutes. Anyway, it wasn’t till about 20 thousand years Homo sapiens, smart man, discovered Europe. When there was a encounter the Neanderthals became extinct a thousand years later. What scientist was trying to find out was why they became extinct?

My Duty to Vote..democrat or republican?

Two films were viewed on Monday stating the duty that, we, 18-20 year-olds have to vote. The speakers kept saying that it was so prized in the early 1900’s people 18 and older were given the right to vote, out of guilt. The House of Congress felt that if people that were 18 were going over to fight for our country, they should be given a chance to vote. The fact of today is that teenagers aren’t voting and that only 11 percent of 18-20 year olds show up for the event. There were many biases in these videos. One was whether democrat or republican was the way to go. Most young people prefer democrat because of college. When one looks at health benefits in college, it brings up a money issues because of tuition rates going up. The thing is with voting, however, is that teenagers are giving older people the right to choose our future and the next generations future. It’s been stated that “oh well my vote won’t count I don’t think that one votes going to change anything.” In fact for every person that says that about a thousand have that mentality. Because of that, it’s no wonder senators and people of the government wonder about revoking the voting age from 18-20, and making it from 21 and older, which are one of the biggest arguments. Instead of staying in bed, go out and vote, it’s a duty and privilege.
